Can a complete beginner learn Tajweed online?
Yes. We start with the sounds of the letters and introduce one rule at a time, always practising it on Quran recitation. Complete beginners usually take Noorani Qaida first, which already includes the basics of Tajweed.
How long does it take to learn Tajweed?
The core Tajweed rules take most students 3 to 6 months with regular classes. Mastery comes from applying them while reading, so many students continue Tajweed practice alongside Nazra or Hifz.
Is it compulsory to recite the Quran with Tajweed?
Scholars agree that reciting without clear mistakes that change the meaning is obligatory, and learning Tajweed is how a Muslim protects their recitation from those mistakes. Your teacher will focus first on the errors that matter most.
